We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Smart Lockers that will allow for self-service pickup of held items during all hours of the day. The funding for the lockers was provided in large part by the Institute for Museum and Library Services’ “Grants to States” program. The grant program is part of the American Rescue Act Plan of 2021 and was facilitated by the NH State Library.
The deployment of the lockers outside of the Library’s main entrance will create an always-open contact-free branch to meet the needs of Library patrons. By providing 24-hours-a-day access, the Library expands its service, in particular to working families and those whose schedules may not coincide with the library’s regular open hours. In addition, those who are immuno-compromised or cannot visit the library for other reasons will have access to materials, craft kits, and more with a space that is convenient and safe. For museum pass users wishing to pick up their discount pass before the library opens, the lockers provide them the opportunity to do just this.
