Secretarys report- Minutes for March 6 were accepted
as presented and filed
Treasurers Report Financials were reviewed. There was
a discussion about the remaining expenditures to be made from the
book budget.
Library Directors Report
- Circulation report for March is not correct due to "bugs" in
the new Horizon system. GMILCS continues to work to straighten out
the problems.
- Fran is almost finished with several new policies. There is a
seminar on the Patriot Act at the State Library Convention in May.
Vickie and Lee Ann are reviewing the Unattended Children Policy
after attending a program where this was discussed.
- Uncle George, the Storyteller will be presenting a family
program on April 11, sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Old Business
- Community Survey-All input is completed Jeff will try to have
printed report by April 18, with a breakdown of survey information
by: age, gender, and straight overall quantitative. For the
nonusers, we should probably just do a straight quantitative and
then will decide if we need further breakdown.
- The Community Calendar- . Both Robin Boyd and Jeff have had
other priorities of late- hope to get to this soon.
- Craft Classes- Lisa Gilliss crochet class was very well
received. She would like to conduct a class for students.
- Calligraphy Class- MF has not yet contacted Yolanda
Walsh.
- Portsmouth Childrens Museum traveling exhibit- MF
contacted them and they have put us on a list of prospective
locations if they receive additional funding. Most likely
timeframe would be winter 2004. Contact name is Paula Rais

- Scrapbooking class- Joy Buzzell and Bethany Chase are teaching
a beginners class on April 15. Both are willing to do a
students class in May if there is sufficient interest.
- Tammy Hooker will conduct a stamping class on May 13.
- Gates computer issues - Tables for the Gates computers have
arrived. Chairs will be purchased in the near future. Gimas
Electric has submitted a bid for electrical wiring for the
computers. Trustees accepted the bid, and monies should be paid
from "Gift" account.
- Transfer Station personnel have mandated that we purchase a
new dumpster. Funds to come from Maintenance and Repair line in
budget.
- Rear Parking Lot- FH to contact Dale Hemeon about options for
safety barriers in parking area.
- The Hooksett Kiwanis Club has donated $500 to be used for the
Summer Reading Program and for the Childrens Christmas
Program. Funds to be deposited and expended in Special Account.
BJs will also help fund some childrens programs.
- Storage Room- Trustees toured the storage area and agreed that
some furniture should be donated or discarded and the room should
be reorganized to maximize storage functions.
- Alternative Suspension Program- Bethany has been having
sporadic problems with supplies disappearing from her room.
Trustees authorized purchase of a small locking cabinet and a lock
for her desk. Prominent signage should indicate that room contents
are not to be touched.
- Banner article- MF to draft article about on line
databases.
- Meeting room calendar- Staff would like meeting room calendar
computerized for ease of use.
New Business
- Books for the Police- MF spoke with Steve Agrafiotas and asked
if the department could use a selection of childrens
books. He indicated that these could be used to entertain children
while their parents are filing reports. FH to ask volunteers to
choose 20-30 books from those donated to the library to give to
the Police Department.
- Warrant Article- MF to draft article for the Banner on the
Library Warrant Article
