Library Director’s Report

  • Circulation report was presented. Circulation figures for December are estimates as the conversion to the new Horizon system caused a problem with the accurate tracking of the December numbers.

  • There will be a concert on March 9th
  • FH will send in an application for the Library for the new BJ’s in Hooksett
  • Staff meetings will be the last Monday of the month and will include staff development
  • As there is little interest in generating names for the meeting rooms, the designations will be left as is.
  • The Hooksett Lions Club has donated $500 to be used towards the purchase of large print books, audio tapes, or aids for the visually handicapped. MF to send thank you note.

Old Business

  • Survey Update- Jeff has designed an Access database for data entry. Our regular library volunteers and staff will be used for data entry which will hopefully be completed prior to the next trustees meeting. Trustees will look over survey and bring ideas for reports to the next meeting.
  • The Community Calendar- Jeff to contact Robin Boyd about getting this set up.
  • US Patriot Act- FH and MF to attend workshop on January 15 and report to trustees at next meeting.
  • Oak Point- Report will be ready in about a week. Preliminary figures indicate that costs will be at least $175,000.
  • Budget- the budget was reviewed in preparation for our budget presentation to the Council on January 15.
  • Craft Class-MF will contact Lisa Gillis about scheduling a knitting or crocheting class.
  • Lighting efficiency- Lighting fixtures for the electrical upgrade will be delivered soon
  • Monitors- Jeff reported that the 15 inch monitors currently used at the front desk are not adequate to work with the new Horizon system. Trustees authorized purchase of new 19 inch monitors.
  • AV will do analysis of PSNH expenditures

The next regular board meeting will be February 11 at 9 AM.
