Hooksett Library's Edible Book Contest - April 9th, 2011
We hosted our annual edible book contest on April 9th to kickoff National Library Week. The day started with a veggie carving demo, courtesy of Desmond Keefe, from SNHU's Culinary Arts Institute, and Matt, a SNHU Culinary Art student!
Twenty 25 entries of all themes, sizes and colors, adorned the adult reading room area. Visiting patrons voted on their favorite entries and the results in order of the Most Favorite were...

Master cake decorator, Kevin Lane, returned once again this year to demo some cupcake decorating techniques for an eager audience.
Activities included:
Edible Jewelry Making (for kids)
Vegetable/Fruit Card Stamping (for kids)
Picture Frame Decorating (for kids)

Contest Rules...
- Everyone can participate: the young, the old, the professional and non-professional, residents and non-residents, and even groups.
- Entries must be book-related. Examples of this can be found in our slideshows of past events (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) and also online at the National Edible Book Contest homepage.
- Entries can be made out of anything, as long as it is edible.
- Entries must be family-friendly.
- Participants can enter up to 3 entries.
- Registration is free!
