Hooksett Library's Edible Book Contest

This is the home of our Edible Book Contest, a contest which we inaugurated in 2007. The rules for the contest:

  1. Everyone can participate: the young, the old, the professional and non-professional, residents and non-residents, and even groups.
  2. Entries must be book-related. Examples of this can be found in our slideshows of past events (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) and also online at the National Edible Book Contest homepage.
  3. Entries can be made out of anything, as long as it is edible.
  4. Entries must be family-friendly.
  5. Participants can enter up to 3 entries.
  6. Registration is free!

Contest Winners for "Most Favorite Cakes":

Our 4th annual edible book contest was held on Saturday, April 17th, 2010. Participants numbered from about 150, this in addition to our usual Saturday traffic of around 200. Their votes helped choose the "Most Favorite Cake" winning entries (See above). Children enjoyed a couple of cake decorating demos and also decorated their own cupcakes. Special thanks goes out to the creative authors of the entries, and also to Kevin Lane and Kim Bond for sharing their time and talents for the decorating demos. See you next year!
